WordCamp Halifax is a community-run event that includes as many people as possible in our decisions, however the core responsibilities tend to fall in the hands of a few key organizers who make sure that all the work gets done.
Alison Knott (Lead Organizer)
WordCamp Halifax 2017’s “Mom” was first bitten by the WordCamp bug in Montreal of 2015. Moved by the community and passion of WordPress, she came back to Halifax and started the WordPress Halifax Meetup. Now a seasoned WordCamp speaker herself, she is bringing the experience to Halifax with its inaugural event. She owns Eraserheader Design, a web design and development shop.
Tara Andrews (Lead Organizer)
Tara is a Graphic Designer passionate about helping people share their ideas and passions online to reach a broader audience. She jumped onboard when the opportunity to be involved with WordPress Halifax Meetup presented itself to build a strong local community in the Halifax area. She has recently illustrated a series of adorable pets wearing glasses available as stationery products tarajoyandrews.ca.
Richard Black (Lead Organizer)
Richard has been using WordPress (personally and in his work) for over ten years now and is a big supporter of the platform. Richard considers himself a modern Renaissance man – and comes from a varied background which includes animation, illustration graphic design, web development and teaching. Richard spends his days teaching at Davinci College, lending a hand at Pulse Signs and running two local small businesses: Rich Graphics and Old School Games. Find him on Twitter, via Facebook or on LinkedIn!
