Holy smokes, Halifax…. we did it! We made WordCamp a reality! Almost a full year of preparation went into making this conference come true. Rich, Tara and I would like to personally thank all the volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to help us with everything from photography to taping down extension cords. Without you guys, Wordcamp Halifax wouldn’t have run as smoothly as it did.
Thank you to our Marketing Team volunteers Crystal Picard and Kathy Colaiacovo – you put on one of the most successful WordCamp awareness campaigns ever, and our strong ticket sales were a testament to that.
Thank you to our Volunteer Lead Dan Parker for making sure volunteers were tasked… and wore comfy shoes! And thank you Alex West for being second in command to Dan and playing A/V tech understudy.
Thank you to our Photography Volunteer Margo Gesser for running around all over the venue to get the best shot. And also thanks to Anni Parker for stepping in when Margo needed a break.
Thank you to Kate Sullivan for being our Speaker Wrangler to help with communications leading up to the big day.
Thank you to our general Volunteer Team for doing everything from registration to monitoring sessions to helping with lunch and just being helpful, friendly faces in blue shirts: Ashley Pincock, Heather Marchione, Jason Ballantyne, Joshua Mulenga and Sandy McFadden.
That was quite the ride, everyone… let’s do it again next year? You know it!
Great experience! Well organized. Informative. I’ll always remember my first WordCamp!
Awesome job, Alison. Sign me up for next time!
