Organizers

Alison Knott

WordCamp Halifax 2018’s “Mom” was first bitten by the WordCamp bug in Montreal of 2015. Moved by the community and passion of WordPress, she came back to Halifax and started the WordPress Halifax Meetup. Then she launched WordCamp Halifax 2017. With the success of the first WordCamp Halifax under her belt,  Alison is ready to lead the Organizing Team once more!

Alison is the owner of Eraserheader Design, a web consulting and branding shop. Her mandate is to raise web literacy in the community, and to help businesses make their websites work their hardest. By WordPress, of course.

Crystal Picard

Crystal is a Freelance Graphic Designer & Content Strategist based in Halifax. She’s privileged to work one-on-one with Small Business owners across Canada and the US to develop kick-butt content strategies and design the collateral to support them.

When not working on client projects, she can usually be found preparing for her next presentation, helping Co-Lead the WordPress Halifax meetup or practising her Hand Lettering under HelloSweetieDesign.

Mike Tanner

I’m the founder of OneRedCat Media, dedicated to help small businesses find their place online. I write for Yummy Mummy Club (not a misprint), Hustle & Grind and Millo. I provide coaching for freelancers and small businesses under the Really Little Wins brand (there’s a book and everything). I’m also part of the team that helps put together local conferences such as Podcamp, Blogjam and now, WordCamp.

In addition to all this I am a full time stay at home dad of two (relatively) awesome kids aged 3 and 6, do a lot of reading, a lot of writing and a lot of yoga.
